The third quarter of 2023 saw notable performance trends among the top carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in the United States. The data from Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into weekly downloads and active user metrics for these apps.

Uber - Request a ride experienced steady weekly downloads, starting at around 103K in late June and fluctuating slightly before peaking at approximately 109K in the last week of September. The app's weekly active users began Q3 at about 4.7M, dipped to around 4.2M in early July, and then generally increased to end the quarter at nearly 4.7M.

Lyft showed a consistent download rate, starting the quarter with approximately 88K downloads and ending with about 84K. Active users for Lyft began at about 2.4M and saw a slight increase, peaking at around 2.5M in late August, before closing the quarter at approximately 2.5M.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a varied download trend, beginning at around 75K downloads in late June, dropping to about 59K in mid-September, and then slightly declining to end the quarter at approximately 57K. The active user base showed an initial increase from around 692K to a peak of about 738K in mid-July, followed by fluctuations and ending the quarter at around 678K.

Lyft Driver maintained a relatively stable download rate, averaging around 17K downloads per week. Active users started at approximately 216K, with minor fluctuations, ending the quarter at about 216K.

inDrive. Save on city rides showed a decline in downloads, dropping from around 13.5K in late June to about 10.2K by the end of September. Active users also saw a decrease from about 101K at the beginning of the quarter to around 89K by the end.
